Obituary of David Wayne Williams

David Wayne Williams, 61, died November 30, 2021, in his home in Clearwater, Florida after fighting terminal cancer for two years. He was born October 30, 1960, in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Clyde Williams and Mae Rose (Eaton) Williams. After the death of his mother, his sister Shirley (Williams) Mallison MacKenzie took him in at the age of 9 and adopted him, moving him to their family farm in Bear Lake, Michigan. He was raised with his nieces and nephews just like sisters and brothers. Carla Mallison, Topeka, Kansas, Charlene Quade (Ken deceased) Cadillac, Michigan, Carl Mallison (Jeanie), Traverse City, Michigan, Crystal Mallison-Schwert (Richard), Cuba, Missouri, and Justin Mallison (Rachel) adopted, New Holstein, Wisconsin. David graduated from Onekama Consolidated School in Onekama, Michigan, Class of 1980. Following graduation, he attended a trade school and went to work. David was a hard worker and worked several different jobs in many different states. He was widowered January 23, 2004, from his first wife Susan Buelow from Kalamazoo, Michigan. After going through a major layoff from Intel in Arizona, David relocated to Starkville, Mississippi where he went to college at East Mississippi Community College in Scuba, Mississippi. David obtained an Associates Degree in Forestry December 2011. It was in Mississippi 2013, in which he met his soul mate, Elinda Hagan and became a wonderful step-father figure to Emily Walker and C. J. Williams and grandfather figure to Breanna Walker and Angelique Williams. David and Elinda celebrated their love for each other after almost nine years together during their wedding ceremony at their home on November 27, 2021. They are members of Countryside Baptist Church in Clearwater, Florida. David had given his heart to Jesus many years ago. Of David’s many careers, his last position was his most proud and the one he continued throughout his chemotherapy. Bridgford Foods Corporation was a wonderful company and David excelled as a direct sales employee. David won the Jonathan Colin Distinguished Service Award 2020. He enjoyed talking about his stores and his pepperoni sets. David was very active. He enjoyed biking long distances, once completing the Natchez Trace Century Ride in Jackson, Mississippi, bowling, golf, kayaking, and walking his dog, Darcy. He was a member of the Indian Rocks Beach 55+ Softball League in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida where he enjoyed one of his favorite sports at 3rd base and did this throughout his chemotherapy. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by brothers Calvin Whittaker, Cleveland Whittaker, Garry Williams, Leroy Williams and sisters Doris Jo Walton, Elaine Richter, Juanita Farina, and Kathy Jordan. Surviving besides his wife, Elinda Hagan, are his brothers Leamon Whittaker, Gene Whittaker, Ronald Williams, sisters, Jackie Williams, Shirley Mackenzie, Joyce Carlsen-Hart, and Judy Head. He had a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Countryside Baptist Church, 2525 North McMullen Booth Rd, Clearwater, Florida.
