Obituary of Kevin Carl O’Connor

Kevin Carl O’Connor, 59, of Venice Florida, passed away on January 14, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. He was born on August 28, 1961 in Rochester, NY. He was a physician assistant in Venice, Florida. Prior to that Kevin sailed the seas as a merchant marine officer and was a LTDR in the US Naval Reserves. He graduated in 1979 from Cardinal Mooney and in 1984 from SUNY Maritime in Bronx, NY. After several years in the maritime industry, he attended and graduated from SUNY Stonybrook School of Health and Technology Management, following his calling in the medical field in order to help others. He is predeceased by his father, Robert F. O’Connor. Kevin is survived by his mother Mary C. O’Connor and brothers Daniel (Toni), Gary and David, several nieces and nephews, his life partner Sterling Glenn, and many friends. Kevin was a selfless and giving man. When his father was ailing with cancer in 2010, he left his practice in Florida to tend to him in New York and stayed until he knew his mother was well taken care of. Kevin had a great sense of humor and loved playing the guitar. He always thought he was a rock star playing next to Keith Richards and the Rolling Stones. He was also an avid Beatles fan and would always say “All you need is love”. Kevin exemplified the meaning of love and be will be missed. We will see him on the other side.
